Lo que tengo que decir de la visita: Una carta abierta al Presidente Joe Biden

 

No importa cuánto poder tenga un caballero visitante, no podrá dar lo que no es suyo. Podrá posar, sonreír y hacer gestos de compasión, pero tendría que comenzar por pedir perdón por todo lo que su país le ha hecho al mío.

 

Puerto Rico es mantenido como colonia mientras se dan discursos sobre la libertad. Puerto Rico está bajo la bota de una junta dictatorial mientras se proclama a los cuatro vientos la democracia. Muchos caballeros visitantes han llegado y se van sin llevarse las cadenas y siempre tienen otros asuntos más importantes que atender en otros lugares.

 

Grito este llamado como hijo de un pueblo esclavo y, como hijo de Dios, digo que sólo será bendito de verdad, el que venga “En nombre del Señor”. El que llega con la verdad en el corazón.  Lo demás, incluyendo las ayudas, sobran.  

 

Además, de sacar la Junta fiscal Dictatorial, tenemos que liberarnos de la mafia de una empresa como LUMA Energy que se ha roba la vida del pueblo.  

 

¡Qué la patria pueda tener vida y respirar!

What I have to say about The Visit: an open letter to President Biden.

 

Regardless of how much power a Visiting Gentleman may have he can't give away what is not his.  He may pose, smile and gesture with compassion, but first he would need to start by asking for forgiveness for all the things that his country has belied upon mine.  

 

Puerto Rico is kept as a colony of the United States while speeches about liberty are being delivered elsewhere. Puerto Rico is trodden under the oppressive boot of a dictatorial Financial Oversight Board while democracy is being preached to the world. Many a Visiting Gentleman has arrived to our island and then leave without taking with them the chains that burden us, and then claim they have more important matters to tend to in other parts of the world.   

 

I shout out this call as a son of an enslaved people.  And as a son of our Lord, I say unto you that that only one who comes "In the name of Our Lord" will be able to claim being truly blessed, one who comes with truth in his heart.  Everything else, including financial relief, remains exceeding.  

 

In addition to removing the dictatorial Financial Oversight Board, we have to get rid of a Mafia-like company such as is Luma Energy that preys upon the livelihood of the people. 

 

May our Homeland live and breathe!
